You have to be mad to want to go to Ikea at the weekend as the place is always packed. But I really needed to pick up some bits and pieces so I left Canthy at home. Even if you know what you want you still have to go around the whole store to get it. Ikea occupies a unique place in China’s retail space, as families often go their for a day out. The restaurant seats several hundred people and is always full so it hard to get a table. But the funniest thing is seeing people hanging out in Ikea reading books, playing games or even sleeping on the chairs and sofas. I know shopping at Ikea can be tiring, but in China it is taken to another level as people try out the sofa to sleep on.
